Tooth replacement is important not only for aesthetics, but also to improve oral function and long term dental health by replacing missing or deteriorated teeth.
The Centre for Aesthetic and Implant Dentistry (CAID) in Melbourne's Burwood East is a purpose-built facility staffed by experienced dentists who are dedicated to ensuring comfort during your smile make over.
Smile make over with All On 4 dental implants treatment, that's All teeth on Four implants, is a popular choice for immediate tooth replacement that could see you with a new smile in as little as two to three days. CAID is dedicated to providing lasting smile make over solutions.

Teeth replacement treatment
A missing tooth is not the only reason your dentist may recommend permanent tooth replacement with dental implants. Certain conditions that lead to the deterioration of teeth that may also be treated with dental implants include:
- Advanced gum disease
- Advanced tooth decay
- Loose teeth
- Heavily worn teeth
- Collapsed or dysfunctional bite
- Inability to tolerate dentures
By removing deteriorated teeth and replacing them with dental implants early, we aim to halt the progression of the disease and the associated bone loss.
To determine your potential for a smile make over, the dentists at CAID will consider various tooth replacement options to suit your specific needs - as there can be a number of teeth replacement and smile make over solutions for different problems.
Developing an appropriate cosmetic dental treatment involves considering every facet of your smile, including your lips, gum appearance and bone condition. Full set teeth replacement with All On 4 dental implants is aimed at addressing these factors for the most favourable result possible.
Smile make overs may include one or a combination of the following procedures offered at CAID:
- Highly aesthetic porcelain crowns, bridges and/or veneers
- Gum lift and gum grafting/recontouring procedures
- Teeth whitening
- Invisalign (no braces teeth straightening)
- Dental implants - from replacing a single tooth to full set teeth replacement with the All On 4 technique
All On 4
It used to be that dental implant procedures were carried out over a period of several months. Today, at the Centre for Aesthetic & Implant Dentistry the replacement of all upper or lower teeth on 4 dental implants can be achieved with high aesthetics and function in as little as 2 days with the All On 4 Plus technique. All On 4 is not only an every day reality at CAID, but is emerging as the gold standard in full set dental implants treatment for a number of dental conditions.
The All On 4 dental implants treatment involves the installation of as few as four dental implants to support a fixed bridge to replace a full set of teeth. In this relatively new technique, the back implants are tilted 45 degrees to provide the required stability and support for full set fixed teeth replacement, also known as 'total rehabilitation on dental implants'. Because fewer implants are used in All-On-4, cleaning is simpler and maintenance over the long term less costly by comparison to when more implants are used. Another advantage ofAll-On-4 is the potential to achieve a highly aesthetic and functional result.
Tooth replacement procedures such as All On 4 are aimed to achieve the following benefits over traditional dentures:
- Improved appearance
- Eat what you want
- Being able to taste your food by eliminating the plastic extensions of a denture
- Improved comfort
- Improved speech
- Helps preserve jaw bone through stimulation
- Smile with confidence
- Long term results
Smile make over in just three days
In total, teeth replacement with the All On 4 procedure generally require four to six visits to the dentist, including pre-operative planning and follow-up care. Placing the dental implants to the fitting of your new replacement teeth has been reduced to a simple three-day procedure. Having an onsite dental laboratory and integrated operating theatres facilitates the streamlined process offered at CAID.
Your specific condition and individual needs will determine the exact course of treatment used for your smile make over or tooth replacement.
Before the procedure, you will require an oral examination by one of our registered dentists as well as x-rays to determine your bone quality and dental implant positions. CAID offers in-house radiological services using Cone Beam CT technology. That means your x-rays can be taken at the same time as your initial consultation.
Once you decide to proceed with an All On 4 smile make over, after certain preliminary work-up procedures on the first day, any remaining teeth are removed, the sockets curetted and the jaw bone is reshaped before the implants are placed. On day two, the full set implant bridge is set in wax and tried in your mouth to ensure that you are pleased with how your new teeth look and feel. On day three, your All On 4 teeth replacements bridge is inserted.
Faster solutions, long-term results
The term "make over" is often ascribed to "quick fix" solutions to cosmetic problems - frequently solutions that are not sustainable.
Whilst a smile make over can often be achieved in a reasonably short period of time, in our clinic we focus not only on fast results, but also on smile make over solutions that are individualised and lasting.
The key to a successful smile make over is comprehensive cosmetic assessment by an experienced implant dentist, as well as the skill and experience of your dental implants team and technician.
CAID offers you access to both, being co-located with Omega Ceramics Dental Implants Laboratory on the first floor of our Burwood East premises.
